MATCHA - Barista Premium Taiao

This is the matcha we use behind our counter for every matcha latte. Matcha powder and coconut blossom sugar come already blended in the bag, so the sweetness is measured once and for all and every cup turns out like the last one, creamy and a deep, even green.

The matcha brings its grassy note and the slight bitterness its fans go looking for, while the coconut sugar rounds it off with a hint of caramel without covering it. With dairy milk it turns soft and enveloping, with a barista plant based drink it stays lighter and fresher. Matcha is ground green tea leaf, so it contains caffeine, like coffee and like any tea.

How to prepare it
At the counter we use 6 grams per cup. Dissolve the powder in a splash of hot water, not boiling, and whisk it with a small whisk or a handheld frother until it is smooth with no lumps, then add 180 ml of milk or plant based drink, steamed or cold over ice. A 250 g bag makes about forty cups.
